He stands very near to me, but within easy range of vision. He seems to be enjoying his ice cream thoroughly, and I have to admit, I'm not not enjoying what he got for me. It's just... strange. It feels unnecessary.

It doesn't sparkle.

But watching him as he eats his ice cream, as he tries to impress upon me the importance of ice cream in general... of food in general...

"It's something so mundane," I say softly, then take another lick of the ice cream to appease him. "And yet you sparkle just as brightly."
